You can catch me on Twitter and Facebook to see what I’ve been up to recently @JohnFellsWood

in shedturning midThese are photos of me in my 1st workshop, a 6’x4′ shed in my parents back garden in East London in the beginning of 2006 (7 years after I got into woodturning as a hobby). I ended up taking over half the garden along with a couple of rooms in the house! However I have recently moved to lovely Cornwall and have found a new workshop in Widegates and since 2016 I can also be found turning at the Lost Gardens of Heligan.

I favour using solely timber grown in the British Isles and make a wide range of items. Wood is just such a warm and tactile material that I find a joy to work, uncovering it’s inherent beauty. I generally don’t turn very big things (much over 18inches in diameter) but prefer to focus on the details and maintaining a nice quality of finish.
